The process to sync a keyboard typically goes like so:
1. Place working batteries into the keyboard. Make sure the batteries are installed CORRECTLY.
2. Plug the dongle into a working USB port on your computer, then allow a few seconds for your computer to recognize the hardware. The dongle will start to blink, and you will have approximately FIVE seconds to connect the keyboard.
3. Make one solid depression on the CONNECT button on the keyboard. The blinking light on the dongle should stop blinking.
4. The keyboard should now be functional and synced to the dongle. If the keyboard still does not work, then repeat the entire process.

Most of the keyboard’s default is NumLock on, so some keys (i.e., U-I-O) will output numbers instead of letters. You may have to press “Fn + NumLock” in some cases. Some keyboards have FnLock, so make sure it is not turned on either. Many keyboards also have an ‘auto-sleep’ function to conserve battery life. If this happens, press any key on the keyboard EXCEPT the sync button or trackball/touchpad to wake it up.
